[David][BT] DUT mode for Bluetooth v4.0+LE

Dear Qualcomm Team,
I am writing to ask about enabling DUT mode for starting the Bluetooth v4.0+LE test with the BT tester.
So far as we know, we enable the BT DUT mode to start the BT BR/EDR test with the BT tester.

May I ask you a few questions about "DUT mode for starting the Bluetooth v4.0+LE test with the BT tester"?
1. Should we enable DUT mode for starting the Bluetooth v4.0+LE test with the BT tester?
2. Do they both use the same hci commend to enable their DUT mode?

Hi David,

Please find my answer to your question in below:
1. The answer is NO, you don't need to enable the DUT mode for BLE test, BLE test only requires to trigger TX burst or RX burst/ test state command.
2, The answer is NO, BLE only support non-signaling mode test according to Bluetooth SIG Core Specification V4.0 as below:
- 7.8.28 LE Receiver Test Command at page 1099.
- 7.8.29 LE Transmitter Test Command at page 1100.
- 7.8.30 LE Test End Command at page 1102.
For BLE RF test, No DUT test defined from Bluetooth SIG officially.

You can find 80-WL300-16, page 14-15, page 22-24 for the detailed procedure.

1. Should we enable DUT mode for starting the Bluetooth v4.0+LE test with the BT tester?
2. Do they (BR/EDR and LE) both use the same hci commend to enable their DUT mode?
3. Citing your comment of "it only requires to configure the DUT into FTM mode and trigger BLE TX only or BLE RX only burst." in your SR01033504, do you mean that we have to send PROD_TEST_LE_TX_BURST or PROD_TEST_LE_RX_BURST command to our MUT after enabled it into DUT mode?
